Artificial intelligence has the potential to transform the way we operate as a society, offering advanced solutions to real-world problems and holding the power to accelerate economic growth. However, we need an ambitious, strategic approach if the Netherlands wants to succeed in the global race of scaling AI technologies.
Host Eva de Mol (Co-founder, CapitalT), Anna Koivuniemi (Head of Google DeepMind Institute), Thomas Wolf (Co-founder, Hugging Face), and Bob van Luijt (Co-founder & CEO, Weaviate) will discuss the realities of scaling AI applications, how the Netherlands competes globally, and the impact of regulations such as the AI ACT.
Should I Stay or Should I Go?
moderated by Marieke van Iperen
Dutch tech has reached a critical point. While it boasts unlimited potential, we must now ask how the ecosystem can level up when it comes to the scaling needs of our potential leading companies. How do we ensure the critical conditions are in place to encourage founders to scale in the Netherlands over other countries?
Vidya Peters (CEO, Datasnipper), Kees Arts (Founder & CEO, Protix) and Krijn De Nood (Co-founder & CEO, Meatable) will explore these crucial questions, examining exactly what needs to change for scaleups to accelerate growth.
Investor Insights
A renowned Silicon Valley investor, Young Sohn (Founding Managing Partner, Walden Catalyst), will join Eva de Mol to provide priceless insights from an investment perspective.

Deeptech Venture Monitor: The Big Reveal
During this session, we will present a new Academic Venture Monitoring system built together with Dutch Universities, UMC’s, Knowledge institutions and Incubators. We link scientific research, publications, patents and the creation of science-based ventures to find potential hotspots and get insights how to accelerate these ventures towards scaling and impact.
We will delve deeper into the specific technologies and sectors these startups engage with, making connections with government policies like the National Technology Strategy and Growth Markets. Additionally, we will explore which types of universities excel in which technologies, sectors and transitions.
Expanding our perspective to an international level, George Windsor will share his insights on how this process functions in the UK. We will conclude with a panel discussion and open mic on how we can use these insights to improve the Dutch Academic/Deeptech Ecosystem.
