Anna Koivuniemi

Anna Koivuniemi leads Google DeepMind Institute, a social impact unit that builds on Google DeepMind's technology and expertise to unlock AI’s potential to solve some of humanity's greatest challenges across areas such as life sciences, sustainability and society. She joined Google DeepMind in June 2023, prior to which she was a partner in McKinsey & Company for almost 17 years, leading the Growth Strategy practice globally to support companies and ecosystems in driving sustainable and inclusive growth and building McKinsey’s largest AI alliance. Prior to McKinsey, Anna has worked in the technology industry for over two decades having always been passionate about the intersection of technology and sustainable development. Anna sits on the boards of nonprofits Tuberculosis Vaccination Initiative (TBVI) and Aflatoun International, has a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from Tampere University of Technology, and an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management.
