Katja Toropainen is the founder and CEO at Inklusiiv, a DEI consultancy helping organisations build more diverse, equitable and inclusive workplaces. Katja has extensive experience in leadership roles in international working environments and advancing DEI in tech companies and startups. She has helped a wide range of tech companies to kick off and make progress in their DEI journey. Her understanding of the history and state of DEI in the tech industry makes her a sought-after expert. Her unique knowledge helps leaders to understand the barriers to inclusion in the tech industry, how with DEI we can build better company cultures and how leaders and employees can contribute to the change.
Prior to founding Inklusiiv, Katja served as the Chief Curator at Slush, a global startup and technology event. With a focus on Europe and the US, she worked closely with startups and tech companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, London and Northern Europe. She is passionate about creating a more inclusive tech industry and has been recognized as a Booking.com Technology Playmaker Award finalist in the category of 'Champion of Change.' She was also recognized as one of the 100 most impactful and influential figures in the Nordic startup and technology scene by the Nordic Web in 2018.
